Context

Deutsche Payment, a financial services company, needed a platform that would allow merchants to manage their accounts and perform key interactions online. Prior to the project, there was no digital system in place — not for client interactions, nor for the company’s internal processes. Everything was handled via paper forms, manual workflows, and siloed business procedures.

The goal was to build a digital account management panel that would replace this fragmented system and bring structure and efficiency to both the company and its clients.

Challenge

This was a ground-up build, and there were several unique constraints:

  • No existing digital baseline — we had to extract requirements and design logic directly from business procedures, legal documentation, and existing paper-based workflows.

  • The system had to respect legal and compliance frameworks, while being accessible and intuitive for end users.

  • We needed to support a wide range of merchant operations, from data entry to transaction management, in a clean, efficient interface.

  • A large part of the challenge was translating complex internal processes into user-friendly interaction flows and a cohesive visual system.

Fortunately, the project team was well-structured and collaborative, which made it possible to work efficiently across analysis, design, and handover phases.

My Role

I joined the project as the UX and UI designer and was involved from the earliest stages.

  • I took part in the technical and functional analysis to make sure the product design was aligned with business needs from the start.

  • I defined the information architecture and completed the navigation model with all user flow diagrams.

  • I designed the full interface for the web app, including all screen layouts, a design system with custom iconography, and key components like tables, forms, filters, and wizards.

Outcome

By the end of the project, we had delivered a complete, scalable interface for Deutsche Payment’s new Merchant Panel — transforming previously offline, paper-based processes into a fully digital platform.

The final deliverables included all design assets, documentation, and components, which I handed over to the long-term platform maintenance team. The new system laid a solid foundation for future development and helped modernize how Deutsche Payment interacts with its merchant clients.
